Minor in Chinese for Professional Purposes
專業中文副修課程
中文、翻譯及語言學系新增專業中文副修課程， 為有志提升中文水平以及加深對現當代中國的認識的同學， 提供副修佳選，並有助加強同學就業的競爭力。

中文在香港的應用日趨廣泛，社會上對高水平的中文及普通話人材需求殷切。 而中港關係愈來愈緊密，廣大的中國市場為不少本港大學生帶來發展機會。 除了主修課程之外，加上專業中文副修課程更是如虎添翼。 從僱主的角度來看，具備專業知識與國際視野的城市大學畢業生， 如果對相關專業的中文寫作流暢自如，普通話侃侃而談， 豈不是更值得網羅的人材？學好中文，無論是就業、創業、升學， 都有更廣闊的空間可供馳騁。無論您的專業是商科、法律、文科、理科、工程、社會科學， 專業中文副修課程都是您的致勝利器。 本課程的結構請參看下表：

     * 同學修讀本組科目之前應已修讀兩科初級普通話或具備同等程度。

守則(guidelines)

與本系其他副修課程的規定相類似，同學修讀專業中文副修課程之前請注意以下守則(guidelines)：

  1. Students must complete the required courses, which totals 15 credit units in order to fulfill the Minor in Chinese for Professional Purposes.
  2. Student must complete all courses required in the Minor in Chinese for Professional Purposes before graduation.
  3. Students must obtain the result of "C- or above" in order to qualify for the Minor award.
  4. Credit Transfer up to 6 credit units is allowed for the Minor in Chinese for Professional Purposes. Normally, credit transfer will only be allowed for coursework undertaken at a recognized university. The CTL department reserves the right to approve or not to approve applications for credit transfer.
  5. The application period will be the same as the Add/Drop period set by the Academic Regulations and Records Office (ARRO). The application form should be returned to the CTL General Office before the end of the Add/Drop period. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE PROCESSED AFTER THE ABOVE SAID PERIOD.
  6. Students must get approval from their parent Department before submission of the application form.
  7. The courses offered in the Minor may not be offered each Semester, students should make sure that they have fulfilled the requirements of the Minor in Chinese for Professional Purposes.
  8. The CTL Department reserves the right to approve or not to approve the application for Minor in Chinese for Professional Purposes.
    Not all courses may be offered each semester. The CTL Department reserves the right to offer courses according to available resources and adequate demand.
  9. The CTL Department reserves the right to offer the courses in any Semester.
  10. The CTL Department reserves the right not to offer undersubscribed courses.
  11. Students should complete the application form for the minor award. The form should be returned to the CTL General Office together with a copy of the academic transcript within one week after announcement of examination result by the ARRO.
